Life Continues...

Well, I didn't get the job I was waiting to hear on.  It's disappointing, but I will continue my search.  I have to remember that with the job market the way it is, companies have their pick of the litter!

Speaking of litters....  My dog had puppies.  They will be a week old tomorrow (Tuesday).  I'm so happy to have cute little Basset pups running around, but at the same time, they are expensive and they whine.  heh!  I get that they are just newly born, but I don't like being woken up at 2 and 4 in the morning!  However, it's only for another week or so.  We'll have them moved out of our bathroom by then.  I hope....  I will post pics of them soon!  (They are adorable!)

I twisted my ankle last week, so I haven't been able to run the second week of the Couch to 5K program.  I'm not happy about that, but I'm resting the ankle.  It doesn't hurt all that much, but feels like it needs to be 'popped.'  I hate that feeling!  I stretch it a little bit each day, and I was using a brace for the first couple of days.  I probably shouldn't have stopped...  I have a pair of low heels on today, and that doesn't seem to have been a smart choice.  Bah!

Went to MegaCon this weekend - also probably not the smartest thing for my ankle.  But it was a lot of fun.  Again, I will post pictures soon.  I used to absolutely LOVE that Con - but it's lost its charm over the years.  I don't get to play much D&D anymore, so I don't know anyone who goes there anymore.  Sad...  Very sad...

I guess that's pretty much it for stuff that has gone on over the past couple of weeks... There may have been little hiccups here and there, but I'm sure I'll ramble about them some other time.  =)  For now, this will be it.  Until the next time...  =)

A watched pot...

For two weeks I have waited patiently for an email that has not yet come.  I'm not sure if I should give up quite yet.  I mean, it's not like I'm doing anything physical in waiting, so 'giving up' is more of a term than an action...  But it still bothers me.

When I see my email notification tell me that I have a new message, my heart skips just a bit.  Almost a flutter, but since I'm trying to keep my hopes in check, I try to keep the little insect in a net.

I just wish that when you go to an interview and they tell you, look for an email within the next couple of weeks, they actually followed through.  I do understand that there are places that have so many applicants that they can't send out personal emails to everyone, but there should be some sort of form letter or something to send to those who don't get hired.  (In a perfect world, I guess....)

So, I safely put away another day of not knowing my status with this particular department.  I think that I will give it til the end of the week before I officially give up.  The brief moments of excitement make the day a little better.  Just before they drag me down again.  heh...

Happy Tuesday, everybody!  =)

Bike Week and St. Patrick's Day Already?

Wow the time has flown by!

I'm not going to apologize for not blogging more often, as I have no reason to.  I have been killing time at my job by other means.  Certainly Cafe World and Frontierville are much less productive than blogging - but they are mindless enough to pass the time quickly and without much thought.

Of course I know that this is sad, and I am still doing my best to change my situation - but it's quite slow going!

I have applied to many positions I have seen out there on job sites and in the classifieds, but I get little to no response.  I'm currently waiting (for the second time) to hear from the local Sheriff's office to see about a position there - but I am at the mercy of their Human Resources department.  I'm beginning to (again) lose hope on this one.

On a good note, my husband has completed his stint at the Police Academy and will be taking the State Certification Exam at the end of the month!  I'm very happy for him.  Proud, too!  He isn't much of an academic, so I feared he would get frustrated with the class portions.  I am so very happy to have been wrong!

In the meantime, he is doing his part time stuff - working at the local events and at the Police Department (as a Civilian, not an Officer).  This week, he is being loaded with shifts for the 70th Annual Bike Week over in Daytona.  I give him kudos on that one!  Some of those people can be rather scary!

Soooooo.....   I know that there is more I want to write.  I'm hoping to get some out into the interwebs sometime soon!  We still do not have access to the internet at home, so I have to squeeze all of my FaceBook time, work, couponing and any extraneous researching into a small, 7 hour day. (Sometimes this bleeds into the evenings and weekends, when I may go to the Library - but they are usually quite busy, and the the connection is super slow...)

So, I will take solace in the fact that I was able to get that out there and hope to be able to exercise the fingers more in the next few days!
